Overview:

Tara Grinstead from Ocilla , Georgia has been missing since October 24, 2005. It is reported Tara was upset in the days before her disappearance, by the break-up of a relationship that had lasted nearly 6 years. Her ex-boyfriend Marcus Harper, former Ocilla cop and ex-Army Ranger had returned to Ocilla shortly before Tara’s disappearance, and many believe he should be the prime suspect in her disappearance.

Analysis:

Tara Grinstead wanted to get married to Marcus Harper. Although the Dateline interview with Marcus Harper is short, his speech reversals tell a bigger story. According to Marcus Harper’s reverse speech analysis from the Dateline interview, at some point Tara may have been pregnant with their child. His reversals also reveal that it may have been a baby girl, and she may have been handicapped. Could this have been known from an ultra sound examination? It seems from a reversal that he may have used the pregnancy against her somehow. Also from his speech reversals he indicates that by being with her, he felt his freedom would be strangled, and he wanted a way out. Part of that action appears to be tying her wrists.

In an earlier interview from Fox News, Marcus Harper's speech reversals indicate several times they had arguments. Tara's sister, Anita Gattis (see below), confirms this as well as a reversal from her indicating physical violence prior to Tara's disappearance.

I think that uh she was looking more for marriage. (Question: Did she say why in October 2004 she wanted to call it quits to your relationship?)

It was somebody special. (Could this be referencing a pregnancy?)

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Gary Rothwell

Overview:

Agent Rothwell is the lead investigator in this case.

Analysis:

He has confirmed that a glove was found on the property, and there are traces of DNA and fingerprints on it. This evidence does not match anyone tested that is known to have had contact with Tara. Although it appears that he wants to put a name to the DNA, one of his reversals suggests he thinks there is no third party. Could he then believe the glove was planted? His reversals also suggest he believes Marcus Harper is involved with the disappearance of Tara.

What was immediately disturbing about Tara's residence was the presence of a latex glove lying in her front yard.

So that gives us a stronger indication that something bad had happened.

When we began interviewing people...

In nearly 27 yrs. with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation I've never encountered such a complex and difficult case.

This goes without saying investigators still in it.

It would appear thatTara left on her own. However…

I don't know if I will be embarrassed.

You can see that Tara's clothes that she had been wearing that night are on the floor here in her bedroom. That leads us to believe that she certainly had come home since she left the cookout.

I looked at her business.

..if you accept the premise that she left in a vehicle, well yes it would be likely she left in one that was driven by someone she knew.

We believe in that police, that's enough, but that's (unknown word).

We learned that Tara and Marcus had a relationship lasting approximately 6 years.

The lad is a cop. May arrest.

Given the nature of the search for her, we believe she would have been found by now. It's very difficult to hide your own body.

Still eyeing that life and that will [we’ll] shield you. I often have said that there is scandal in the making.

Mr. Harper provided an alibi, and it was essentially substantiated.

Now bland it out, with precaution.

(Question: Could Anthony Vickers have been involved in Tara's disappearance?) We looked into it extensively, at this point we can't draw a connection.

It was certainly a piece of evidence that we were interested in. I mean, it's a business card stuck in the door of a person that's now missing.

We might let share what's it about.

We always have to consider the possibility of a third party.

We'll be able to pull this off, weather this, and you can pass the lie.

There's someone who knows something, has a person they know that is involved in this case, and was with holding that information for fear that we were not going to be able to prove it.

There's the ex involved. Hasn't won yet.

This case can be solved. I believe it will be solved.

Possible revealment.

If reversals are put together one can often see a conversation occurring, and an overall theme can be noticeable also.
